Weebly - Presented by Valerie Burton
I am familiar with Weebly, but have not had the confidence to
try it with my students. This session gave me the confidence to do so. I think this Website builder is nicely suited for the elementary level and I discovered the you can have more than one student work on the site at the same time, as long as they are not working on the same page of the site. The Website creator is very-user friendly and the drag and drop feature makes it fairly easy to navigate and add content. I would definitely have students create text in Microsoft Word, then copy and paste it into their Weebly Website. I think this would be an effective way for students to present content learned in the areas of science and social studies. Ms. Burton uses the site builder to have students create portfolios with which I’m very familiar. I’m not sure if that’s the best platform for our students at this time. However, the format we have used at Reynolds for exiting 4th grade students who receive a disc of their work in a Webpage format worked very well last year.
